Welcome, welcome. Bump & Bonnet is a new name for a not-so-new photography service. I’ve been creating beautiful portraits of families under the name of ‘Melanie Grady Photography’ for a few years now. After a lot of soul searching and moving our family 500 miles south to Nashville, I’ve decided to branch off and start again under a new name and brand.
When I think about what inspires me when photographing a new life, a child, or a family, I usually think about timeless portraits of the past. Your family deserves timeless portraits (in print) that will last much longer than you. These are our living history. My hope is that I can provide this to all of my clients so that their children and grandchildren aren’t left with some old corrupt memory cards or hard drives and without memories or history to see and to feel. My clients will have family heirlooms to pass down from generation to generation like these below that I have of my Great-Aunt and Grandmother. Classic, timeless, beautiful. Pinterest trends, cell phone images, and a ton of props are not what we will want to see in 20, 40, or even 80 years. Simple, clean, crisp, fun, and everlasting images is what I provide (on many many different formats – more on my product line a little later).
I prefer to shoot in an organic environment, rather than a studio. I seek out the beauty in nature and I feel that is the most perfect backdrop for your portraits. Give me sun flare, tall grass and an expecting mother, a curious young child, or a family, and I’m in my happy place. I also love to shoot at my client’s home… especially newborns in their own personal and new environment. Fine, organic family portraiture in Nashville…
I began the Bump & Bonnet journey with a very special one year old named Lana Grace.
